Chrono-log Whole Blood Aggregometers

Versatility... for monitoring Aspirin and Plavix therapy for or comprehensive diagnostic testing of platelet function

The NEW and highly versatile Model 700 combines the comprehensive diagnostic capability of Lumi-Aggregation with rapid and simple Whole Blood screening in one easy-to-use system. The Model 700 permits high volume testing of platelet aggregation and secretion directly in whole blood samples, without the preparation of PRP, requiring less time and less than 5 ml of whole blood for the diagnosis of specific platelet disorders. As whole blood aggregometry is a more adequate tool for the detection of platelet hyperaggregability, clinical labs can now routinely identify patients at risk of bleeding or thrombosis and confirm their response to anti-platelet medication.

The Model 700 is the first Lumi-Aggregation System with the ability to measure platelet aggregation and ATP release in up to four (4) samples at a time for a total of eight (8) simultaneous test results. Dual channel units can be upgraded to a four-channel unit, each channel measuring platelet aggregation and dense granule secretion in a whole blood environment with reusable or disposable probes, or in a traditional plasma sample.  The disposable probe feature and pushbutton operation provides a rapid, reliable platelet function screening test.

The Model 700 provides a rapid and reliable platelet function screening test to monitor the effects of anti-platelet drugs such as… 1. Aspirin – measuring extent of response to therapy     2. Clopidogrel [Plavix] – determining pharmacodynamic or pharmacokinetic resistance 3. GPIIb/IIIa receptor blockage - including post-treatment platelet recovery. In a study published in 2005, it was concluded that: "The WB impedance assay should be widely used in the clinical practice to identify subjects who are resistant to aspirin and clopidogrel."

The ATP release measurement quantitates platelet dense granule secretion and eliminates the need for time consuming dose response testing to confirm second-wave aggregation. In addition, this feature provides greater clinical utility by direct measurement of impaired secretion in storage pool disease and aspirin related platelet dysfunction.

The Model 700 includes an internal computer interface and AGGRO/LINK software for measuring up to four (4) samples of  aggregation and luminescence simultaneous: a total of eight (8) tracings. It is also particularly useful for running up to four (4) test samples for von Willebrand’s disease using the Ristocetin Cofactor Software.
